Frequently Asked Questions
SPF stands for ‘sun protection factor’ and is used as an indication of how long it would take the sun’s UV radiation to burn your skin when using sunscreen versus time it would take without any sunscreen. This means that an SPF of 50 would take you 50 times longer to compared to if you weren't wearing sunscreen. SPF50 products also block out up to 98% of the UV rays you are exposed to.
Sunscreen is recommended when UV levels hit above 3 (but even below 3 damage. In Australia, the average peak UV can reach above 12 in most parts of the country and often stay high until after 5pm. Even in winter, many parts of Australia can reach about 3. Most of us apply sunscreen with our morning skin care routine. Sunscreen needs to be topped up every 2 hours to maintain protection as both chemical & mineral sunscreens degrade over time. this means by midday, when the sun is at it's strongest, our morning application is providing little to no protection, when we need it most.
Australian sunscreen standards are amongst the toughest in the world. Our harsh climate and thin ozone layer mean our standards have to be very high. Any product made here that meets TGA & Australian Sunscreen Standards will provide high quality sun protection.

Yes, yes and yes again. This is incredibly important to our brand. Rest assured our products are 100% cruelty free.
Close eyes, hold 10-15cm away and spray liberally and evenly to exposed areas. Keep eyes closed & hold breath for 3 seconds to allow time to set. Do not apply in windy conditions. We recommend spraying onto hands to place on your face so you don't miss a spot. Can be used before or after makeup. Apply 20 minutes before sun exposure and re-apply every 90 minutes especially after swimming, exercising or towel drying. Store below 30°C.
Apply directly to cheek and lip. Use finger to blend out for a seamless finish. 2 hours water resistant.
We have both chemical & mineral sunscreens in our range and plan to expand both in the near future. A chemical sunscreen works by the skin absorbing chemical UV filters to absorb UV light and prevent sun damage. Chemical sunscreens are usually more lightweight and can be completely clear. Mineral sunscreens use physical filters that sit on top of the skin scatter or reflect UV light. Mineral sunscreens tend to be better for anyone with sensitive skin.
Our SPF50+ Face Mist & SPF50+ Mineral Primer are btoh TGA Approved and meet all criteria as set out in the Australian Sunscreen Standard AS/NZS 2604:2021. Our SPF50+ Lip to Cheek is not required to be TGA approved as it is primarily for use on the lips, however, would qualify for TGA Approval and meets all requirements of the Australian Sunscreen Standard.
We reccomend our products to be used as part of your daily skincare routine, and only reccomend wearing products in the ocean that are specified as being reef friendly.
